The “Flowers & Wine” exhibition returns to Carignano from May 11th to 12th, 2024. Organized by the Events Committee of Carignano and the Municipal Administration, the event will take place in the park of Via Monte di Pietà. It will transforming Via Frichieri into a meeting point for flavours, colours, and scents. The program of Flowers & Wine This traditional local celebration represents a unique opportunity for visitors to immerse themselves in the culinary culture of the region. In addition to tastings, exhibitions, and aperitifs, guests will have the opportunity to participate in a series of cultural events and entertainment that celebrate local traditions. Both residents and tourists will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of tastes and aromas, discovering the richness and diversity of local cuisine. The celebration offers a multisensory experience that leaves a lasting impression on participants, allowing them to fully experience the spirit and hospitality of the local community. The opening scheduled for May 11th marks the beginning of a weekend with free and open access dedicated to taste, nature, and craftsmanship. This year, the trade show hosts the Distretto del Cibo Chierese-Carmagnolese, which will bring a selection of typical products, promoting the gastronomic excellences of the territory. The collaboration with the district enhances local productions and offers visitors the unique opportunity to discover authentic and quality flavors. During the weekend, in addition to the wine tasting dinner on Saturday evening, other activities are planned to entertain participants. It will be possible to visit an art exhibition entitled “WOMEN IN PAINTINGS. Dancers, mothers lovers, and femmes fatales in the futuristic painting of Ugo Pozzo (1923-1973)” and participate in an archery exhibition and trial. Furthermore, on Saturday 11th, there will be an engaging musical atmosphere with the presence of a DJ in Piazza Liberazione starting from 9 p.m.

67th Edition of the Asparagus and Tench Fair in Poirino

The Asparagus and Tench Fair returns to Poirino from May 10th to 13th 2024. The food and wine event, supported by the Chierese-Carmagnolese Food District, will offer participants the opportunity to discover the genuine flavors of the area. This year, the Fair celebrates its sixty-seventh edition. A tradition deeply rooted in Poirino, a town located among the hills of Turin, the countryside of Alba, and the Asti region. Every year it becomes the stage for one of the most beloved food and wine festivals. Asparagus and Tench The undisputed protagonists of the fair are asparagus and the Golden Tench of the Pianalto, a renowned fish excellence recognized with the prestigious DOP label. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of gastronomic stands. Doors will open starting from 7 p.m. on Friday, May 10th, in Piazza Cavalieri di Vittorio Veneto. Here, they can delight in the best traditional recipes of the region, including fried tench in batter accompanied by fresh asparagus and carpione, creating an unforgettable culinary experience. The Fair’s other activities In addition to the food and wine stands, the fair will offer a rich entertainment program that will involve visitors of all ages. Among the main attractions, there will be exciting concerts with famous Italian artists. Some of the performers include Ivana Spagna, the Explosion, and Luigi Gallia, who will entertain the public with their performances. Furthermore, participants will have the opportunity to take part in an exciting impromptu painting competition, open to all art enthusiasts, and to explore markets rich in typical local products and crafts. Tomorrow, April 18th in Santena, the event titled “The sustainability of pig farming in the Pianalto within the River Banna Watershed”. The event will be held from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Cavour Castle in Piazza Visconti.  Experts, entrepreneurs, and community leaders will come together to address an urgent challeng. The sustainability of pig farming in the Pianalto within the River Banna Watershed.  Guided by the voices of various participants, efforts will be made to find concrete answers. In a territory shaped by centuries of history and the forces of  nature of the Paleo Po and Paleo Tanaro rivers, a path towards responsible resource management is being defined. The event moderator is Franco Gambino. Following the greetings from the Fondazione Camillo Cavour of Santena , Elena Costa is scheduled to speak about the “Terre da Gustare, del Pianalto, del Chierese e del Carmagnolese” Association. As well as Roberto Ghio, president of the Distretto del Cibo and mayor of Santena. Following, Luca Bondi, entrepreneur and founder of “Il Poggio Agrisport” in Ternavasso, Poirino; Gino Anchisi “Associazione Amici Fondazione Camillo Cavour; veterinarian Ermenegildo Valvassori; Regional Councilor, Davide Nicco; and Regional Councilor, Monica Canalis. A video message from Giulia Innocenzi, collaborator of “Report” and director of the documentary “Food for Profit”, will also be screened. The objective is clear: to identify the criteria for genuine sustainability. The aim is to protect the environmental balance and the economic interests of the communities, without losing sight of the historical and cultural heritage of this land. Everyone is invited to participate in this crucial debate. The future of the Pianalto within the River Banna Watershed depends on the ability to act with wisdom and compassion.
